Macbeth :: essays research papers

Two characters that have flaws that are the causes of their downfall is wench Macbeth and Macbeth. Lady Macbeths flaw is that she makes her husband putting to death king Duncan she feels guilty after she does this, so she commits sucide. Macbeths flaw is what leads him to kill his ambtion and selfishness leads to his death.Lady Macbeths flaw is that she convinces Macbeth that he isnt a man unless he goes through with the murder of Duncan. She threatens his humanity by saying "when you durst do it, then you were a man and to be more that what you were, you would be so much more the man" (act 1, scene VII, l 49-51). later Lady Macbeth convinces Macbeth to kill Duncan, she feels guilty and says "heres the smell of the blood still. All the perfumes of Arabia depart not sweeten this little hand" (act 5, scene 1, l 35-36). Lady Macbeth becomes mentally ill she kills herself because she feels so guilt.Macbeths flaw is that he feels the need to conjure up his manhood, wh ich eventually leads to his downfall. Macbeth was not secure in his manhood. So he feels the need to prove hinself to Lady Macbeth. After he proves he is a man by killing Duncan, he thinks he has alot of power to do whatever he wants. After Macbeth commits the crime, he feels that his soul can never be cleansed, no matter what he does. He said "They pluck out mine own eyes, will all great neptunes ocean wash this blood clean from my hand? No this my hand will rather the multitudinous seas incarnadine, making the green iodin red" (act II, scene III, l 58-62). This shows that he really doesnt want to kill Duncan, but he does it in order to prove himself to Lady Macbeth, and to become the king. By the end he has ne fear, and has not only killed Duncan but also many other people such as Siward, Banquo and Macduffs family. Macbeth proves that he can be a man by killing, but in the end he can not believe that he went through with all that. All that he did eventually leads to the death of his love, Lady Macbeth, which is the original reason he feels the need to prove himself.

Psychos in our mist :: psychopathic behavior

For most of us the idea of a psychopath conjures up images from movies homogeneous "Silence of The Lambs" and characters with names like "Hannibal Lector." Fortunately characters like Hannibal dont really exist. Serial killers and people involved in ritual torture are rare, tho psychopathic behavior is more reciprocal than you might think.I digest known several psychopaths in my life. The clearest case involved an older teen who had no sense of guilt. He could learn the rules, but he had no sense of conscience. The only thing that saved him was a mother who loved him, took him to counseling for years and spent a great quite a little of time patiently teaching him right from wrong. I echo a conversation where he told me, "People know when something is wrong because it feels wrong. I have to remember or be reminded that stealing from someone is wrong. I dont feel bad if I take something."Meeting this young boy changed my position of a psychopathic person ality. Why? Because children with this condition are "emotionally blind." And while I do not excuse cruelty or criminal behavior, I have sympathy and appreciate how hard it is for some people to learn how to act responsibly. Without help, potentially psychopathic children allow become adults who never remain tie to anyone or anything for long. They may end up living a "predatory" lifestyle, feeling little or no regret, and having little or no sorrow - except when they are caught or about to be locked up. A psychopath is not necessarily a bad person. But they are prone to have problems with society, rules, expectations and relationships.A psychopath will use people for excitement, entertainment, to build their self-esteem and they invariably value people in terms of their material value (e.g. money, property, comfort, etc..). They set up involve and get other people into trouble quickly and they seem to have no regret for their actions. To date there is no checkli st of behavior and symptoms that will tell you with certainty whether or not a person is a psychopath. But there are warning signs. The following warning signs are found on my experience but primarily research conducted by Robert Hare, Ph.D - the leading expert on the Psychopathic Personality.Characteristics of a Psychopathsuperficial charm self-centred & self-important need for stimulation & prone to boredom deceptive behavior & lying conning & manipulative little self-condemnation or guilt
